On our division order dated 08/12/2020. We were offered RI Decimal Interest 0.00068419 In pay. We signed in agreement and sent the division order back to XTO Energy. 02/25/2021 received a check and on the oil/gas payment statement the DOI decimal is 0.00018870. 02/26/2021 second check and the DOI decimal is the same. 05/25/2021 & 05/28/2021 checks the same. 09/13/2021 a new Division Order came in the mail. Exactly the as the one from last year, Except for the date AND the RI Decimal Interest 0.00018870. Since I signed the Div Order last year agreeing to the Decimal Interest. Why did they change it and pay me almost 5x less than what was agree on. And if can just change agreements at anytime and pay me much less without notifying me in writing as it says in the Division Order. We signed the Amended Lease Jan 2015. Didn’t get a check until 2/25/2021. Am I missing something or is this XTO does things?
Pasadeana welcome to the forum. First I would check with XTO’s owner relations and see what they reply with. I had a similar situation on one of the wells in our unit (different company) that paid a lower DI and when I inquired to the production company that holds our leases I was told that they only marketed around 75% of that particular well and the remainder was marketed by a another company who had a financing arrangement with the primary production company. I contacted the other company and eventually received back due and monthly royalties for the remaining portion that they controlled. Many of these production companies have financial agreements with non operators to help in financing the high costs of getting wells to production. Not sure this is the case here but definitely worth checking into. The company that had a portion of our well is Equinor Onshore Properties. They have similar relationships with numerous other companies that do the drilling. Good luck.
Thank you so much for information to help me know what I need to do. XTO energy is hard to get someone on the phone. The automated phone has a message that says after Oct. 1st. There won’t even be the automated service. Web site will be the only way to contact them. I am going to call them now and see what I can find out. Hopefully getting this straightened out.
