I received updated division orders from Permian Resources. Original orders showed type of interest as “RI” which I assumed meant royalty interst. New orders have updated decimal interest, but have also changed type of interest to “NE” which I assume means non executive. But I wonder why the change and what effect it will have. I reached out to Permian Resources but have still not received an answer. I’m hesitant to return corrected DO until I understand.
Do you have executive rights? If not, then it should not concern you how they have it coded. Could be a change of software or accounting or a new DOA keyed it differently. As long as you don’t have executive rights and the NRI is correct, you can return the DO and not worry or wait for a response that might not come. Executing a DO cannot change the mineral interest that you own.
