From the Doddridge County Independent. dated 02-06-2015 Antero Resources has filed applications for the following Horizontal wells>Trio#2H,Burgess#2H,Caboose#I&2H,Cool#1H. These are all in Doddridge County. Just thought that the info might be helpful to someone.
Okay gang, I got a DO and spoke with Lindsay. All seems to be in order and they expect to start mailing checks in March or April depending on how many folks sign and mail back their DO’s. This may be a crude question, so feel free to tell me if that is the case. Is there any way to estimate what revenue I might receive based on the multiplier? I’m just interested in a ball park even. I’d hate to think I put all these years into the research, chasing heirs, filing affidavits only to receive a check for $1.50! Hahahaha!!!
hi everyone sorry about the profile pic that I have not fixed yet Im new to all this but you have to start somewhere. I have interest in Langfitt well H1 & H2 Talked to antero resource yesterday and was told checks Should be on the way.
First sales were July 2014…no idea when it went on line. Just curious…I don’t think I have enough information for a real close estimate, I just thought someone might have a ball park figure I could multiply by the decimal they gave me… thanks DT. UGH on getting sued!! Seems like the lawyers always come out best on those, regardless of the side they represent! Hope you do okay with that!
J.K. Congrats to you on getting close to getting paid. When did that well go online? I would say your first check should be pretty good. The first one will be retro from the time the well was completed and put online.
I doubt if they pay you for all of your research over the last few years.Lol All I got from all the research and contacting heirs was, a headache and sued by the oil company. Lol.
The HB 2688 “forced pooling” bill was passed out of committee to Judicial last week. This bill, if passed, will be a tough deal for mineral owners if they are pursued. The part I was kind of surprised at was, the mineral owners assoc. was in agreement with it. Ritchie Co. delegate Ireland was the main sponsor. (He owns minerals there) Sell out is what I see.
Antero has filed for an application to drill a horizontal well >Little Tom Unit 2H. in New Milton District, from the Doddridge County Independent dated 02/13/15.
DT re the Forced Pooling Bill 2688 (House), and the WV Mineral Owners Association, I read somewhere that the president of that association is being prosecuted for defrauding an older gentleman out of millions of dollars of oil and gas holdings in Marshall County, sort of a scam to force a tax sale, and not notify him. Complicated. So it seems that the association is not to be taken seriously. And the bill will be a problem for West Virginia mineral owners.
You are so right DT.
That helps a lot Arnold. Thanks so much!
Nancy, The guy is supposed to be watching out for owners and from scanning through the suit, it seems greed is involved. I would say a lot of mineral owners have been scammed out of their minerals by this type of crook. It makes it easier to see why the group he is president of is backing the forced pooling. I would say it would benefit him or he would not be for it.
No, Arnold, the DO was just sent, so I don’t think she has received it yet. Seems a bit odd to me; I just wonder if it is some sort of stall tactic!
Antero filed for the following Horizontal Gas Well permits>
Grape Unit #1H (West Union District). Nova Unit 2H (West Union District). Rainer Unit 1H and 2H( West Union District). Published Feb 20th 2015.
Ok, so has anyone else had this problem: we have been told twice now that they didn’t receive our signed DO! I made sure it was sent this time, the third time, by cert mail!
Jim, sorry to hear about your problem, I have sent two in the past two months, and received payment on both when promised. Did you get the confirming SIGNED cert back yet???
Good for you Arnold! I am told that payment is dependent on how many DO’s they get signed and returned. I’ve just learned of someone in my family raising holy hell…doesn’t think the numbers are right (Translation…WHAT…I thought I’d get a lot more money) so who knows how long this will take. Maybe they will start working on the second one, before the first one gets resolved! Laugh! Good to know that they have fulfilled their promises to you. I also filled out the ACH form, but Lindsay said the first payment would be by check. I’ll keep you posted! You give me hope Arnold…thanks for that:)
Jacqueline: Today I received a separate check for the late payment 3% on the Gaskins Well. It was not in the first check but the second just as I was promised by Antero. I have my check sent by DIRECT DEPOSIT, and the late payment check was sent by mail.
Thanks Jacqueline. The DO’ S can take time to process, for example, on the Holden Well " Declaration of pooling" there were 5 total pages of names to share the goodies with, the McPherson wells have over 45 pages of names sharing, so you know the problem of breaking down “who own’s what” must be a total nightmare. I can certainly see why it takes so long for the DO’s to finally be sent out and then imagine the time it takes to get them all back signed and sent to payroll. You hang in there “it will happen”.
Hi J. S. Smith, glad you found this group. Plenty of information here.
About the old flat rate leases (which the 1902 is): here is the WV statute requiring 1/8 royalty for new wells permitted on such leases, look for section 6 - 8.
http://www.legis.state.wv.us/WVcode/Code.cfm?chap=22&art=6#06
Tawney did some things with that also. Any old wells still producing that are flat rate can stay. New wells, including deed, must be at least 1/8.
If you are approached to amend the old lease for any reason, nowadays it is for pooling, you can always try to negotiate better terms. Some companies flat out refuse and some might change things and/or offer a fee for signing.
I recommend Kyle Nuttall, a member of this group. www.nuttalllegal.com
He has some good information on his website, for surface and mineral issues. There are other good attorneys also.
Read as much as you can on here, and look for information about the forced pooling bill, which just passed the WV House last week, House Bill 2688. It will be taken up by the senate soon.
Hi all…newbie here…Big company wanting to drill deep and a midlevel company wanting to do a ROW…
I am doing my due diligence but its still too much to do on my own…
Some questions I have:
Are mineral leases from around 1902 perfectly valid?
with tat, are flat rate leases still enforceable? The Tawny case seems to overturn Columbia Gas here (2004)
SITE http://www.wvsoro.org/resources/minerals_royalty/TawneyOrderFlatRat…
Does deep drilling apply?
Does horizontal drilling apply?
Can the old lease be successfully challenged by the landowner?
Any lawyers for the surface owner you like?
I attended a Tyler County landowners group on 3/5/15 and it was very good. Does Doddridge have one and how do I reach them? Nothing on the internet imo.
Look forward to following this site…thank you in advance for your replies…‘time is of the essence’…
