The tax statement reads as follows: 1/8 of 1/2 O & G 14 AC.
I understand that this means 1/8 royalty and 1/2 of the gross property. Is this correct?
Next question: What does INT O & G 15 AC mean.

If correct, the tax statement means that you have a one sixteenth interest (1/16) on oil and gas for a tract of fourteen acres. Probably somewhere back an ancestor had a half interest in the oil and gas, and had eight children, and you have the interest of one of them. Often when people had acreage, a farm or something, and decided to move from the farm, or died and the children decided to sell the property, they would sell the surface and half of the oil and gas rights, and keep (“reserve” or “retain”) half. If that is the case, your net mineral acreage is 1/8 times 1/2 times 14 or 7/8 of an acre. At least that is how I would interpret it. Sometimes things don’t get recorded correctly so don’t just rely on the tax ticket, but that is a good place to start.
Had the problem last month Arnold, but got retroactive payment in August royalties. NOT a separate check. Though no interest for anything but 2 out of 8 wells and that DID come on a separate check back in March. Statements are so difficult to read (they say they are working on that) and I suspect they will be using the “new accounting system” excuse for as long as they can get away with it.
Wake up everyone, Silence for the last several day’s. I received Royalty on two new wells on the 1st of Aug, they were not retroactive, called and was told that I would get a separate check this month, Do I believe them ??? I guess time will tell. Anyone else on the same boat?
Thanks jacqueline, It really is difficult to figure out antero’ statements, hopefully. They will improve.
Arnold Stuart, I have some upsetting news about our OXFORD 97 that they have been drilling on in Doddridge County. I got a phone call two weeks ago, relating to the status of this well pad. I know last time I talked to you about it they were drilling. Well they did 8 wells (drilled) on this pad. But Scott from Noble in Oklahoma called me and said they were NOT going to frack this well and bring inline until MAYBE 2017, because of the oil and gas prices. It was to be maybe this November 2015 to be turned in line now this news. I wanted to let you know what I had found out. I guess the good thing about it, is if they do frack and turn in line when the prices go up, and yes I said GO UP… I am thinking positive here, we will get a better rate of return than turning them in line now, I guess is one way to look at it. If you should want Scotts # at Noble just let me know and I can get that for you. Thanks… and a little bummed out.
I read somewhere that Noble was putting its drilling plans on hold for awhile
Yes Nancy, they called and told me until the middle or end of 2017l. Guess it will be best in the long run, esp. since the first six months of checks are the biggest, I would rather wait until the price goes back up I guess. I am just glad they drilled the Oxford 1 last year . And who knows with Antero, they are drilling all around our lease in Doddirdge but not yet, so maybe they will hold off too. Our lease we signed with Antero will mature next September 2016. They gave us 42,000 to sign the lease ans a bonus, so I just assumed they would drill. But so far nothing, maybe it would be a blessing if someone else bought out Antero But then again, I think they are all about in the same boat until prices get better.
I think I heard that Antero would be doing more in 2016. If they are in your area, and if your lease is nearing expiration, odds are they will drill, or do enough preparation to hold the lease, next year.
I agree about better to the the first big payment when the price is better. Wish we could make it happen that way!
The Doddridge Independent dated 8-14-15>Antero filed applications to drill Horizontal wells in Doddridge County. NOTE: some of these could be repeats from a few weeks ago> Edger # 1&2. Hickman #1& 2. Maxwell Heirs unit #1&2. Rominger # 1&2. Warden #1&2. Freeman unit #2H. Waxwing #2H. Caboose #1& 2. Rainer #2.
Lot’s of interesting informative information in the Doddridge Independent depending on one’s interest, two full sections, so I guess it all boils down to what suits your fancy.
Got my ACH remittance on 8-31. Really low and for gas royalties only. Inquired about past interest checks AGAIN…was told they will be issued next week. This new accounting software issue is getting really old. Poor business practice to initiate anything so massive that has not been tested on a dummy database. Sorry - feeling testy today over what is looking more and more to be just plain stupid stuff. AND…My royalties were so low… the deductions are almost 50% of the gross. Grrrrr…
That is pretty crummy. I hope Antero gets the bugs out of the system soon. And hope the low price of gas improves. Bound to come up a little with winter approaching. My sister just read a forecast for an especially cold winter in the northeast. Hope they get those pipelines completes up there from our area, so they can have our natural gas to keep them warm.
Hey I know things are tough, but come-on SHARE. I will start with> received my Sept. royalty for the Piggot Wells and no Retroactive Money, so I called and talked with Rob Burgess in Denver and was told latter part of next week as they are still working on the new payroll system. Anyone have anything to add besides “SEEING IS BELIEVING”.
I recived my first check in July, then informed I’d been over paid. Was that the new software issue?
Antero applied for several applications to drill more Horizontal Wells in Doddridge County, mostly in Greenbrier district, a couple in McClellan. If anyone is interested I will post their names. Taken from the Doddridge Independent dated 8-28-2015. For $50.00 a year one can subscribe to this paper.
Thanks Arnold! I finally did subscribe last week… waiting for my first to arrive.
Katrina, Don’t forget these are just application’s"TO DRILL" that Antero is applying for>they are Sheets #1H. Edgell #1-2H .
Arnold I would have been happy with just an application, but neither one of those are mine. Thanks so much…
My lease with them is up next Septermber 2016, so what happens if they do not do something by that time? Do I lease to someone else or them again or what?? Thanks
