Does a market exist for minerals here in Dawson Co?

Some would call it goat pasture… but hey, it’s holding the earth together. Is there a market for sale/purchase of such as this?

I’m a relatively new member so take this for what its worth - I don’t think there is much marketing of minerals on the forum. It’s really not the purpose of the forum. There are plenty of resources to find companies that purchase mineral rights, though. Happy to point you in the right direction if you’re interested.

My apologies… I can see where the framing of my question easily left room for ambiguity. More clearly - I’m wondering aloud if this particular location is so far removed from any activity, if the minerals would be worth anything at all north of 0$. I’m mostly wondering aloud about the generalized perspective the market places on non-producing minerals that are clearly out of known and popular areas.

I’ll toss out a few random thoughts:

  • One might say that with current (‘modern’) technology, the rocks are known there, and the answer is - no grease below.

  • One might say that there are market participants who are much like stamp collectors - they’ll buy minerals anywhere if the price is low enough, hoping for pleasant future surprises - after all, this is Texas.

  • One might say that if the actual number of net acres is above a minimum threshold, say 100 acs, it’s worth a gamble to purchase at 2 or 3 hundred per NMA.

Yeah that is pretty far afield. Enough that the value is probably pretty close to zero. Yeah there is probably someone who would buy it for dirt cheap on the hope of something. No clue who that someone is though.
