After more than 35 years of managing large and small mineral estates, I support Tom Ed's idea. Set up the system that best suits your needs. Commercial programs usually fail because they try to cover everything for everybody and end up being too cumbersome to support. Set up a Production Revenue by well for tax purposes, and a Land transaction spreadsheet by parcel so you know what is leased and by whom with pertinent dates incorporated.

True management of minerals needs input and judgement from experience an periodical technical review. There is no software for that. If you use data to react to offers, you are usually too late.
