Are they drilling on S1T1SR5W or S11R1SR5W or S12T1SR5W or S14T1SR5W /?
I have signed a lease for S1& 11 & 12, just wondered if they drilled yet?
Thanks.

Eileen, my family has a lease with Marathon on S12-T1S-5W (Ely 1-12H) and my research shows it was spudded on 2/16/2014. The people I have talked to says it is expected to be producing by late summer of 2014 if anything comes of it.
I think we have some common ancestry, Eileen. I believe I have interest in the same sections you mentioned.
The ELY 1-12H in S12T1SR5W was SPUD on 2/16/14. I have not heard anything since. Do you know anyone on the ground there?

You can track it on this web location. Type in leading zero if needed. 0101S05W You are looking for the 1001A report of Spud. Hays 1H spud (began drilling) May 15. Ely 1-12H spud Feb 16, 2014.
The completion will be posted here as well. Now you can see what else is in those sections as far as old wells.
I have a question about “Acres within a Section that are Held By Production by an Oil Company in a Long Term Lease vs. Acres located in the Section that are Owned but Not Leased or Held by Production.” How does that work out if an Oil and Gas company wants to Horizontal Drill in the Section?
It all depends upon the wording of the first lease or forced pooling regarding the production acres held.
If the first lease or forced pooling include the zone wanted for horizontal drilling, then you are held by the terms of the first lease. (sometimes they are quite old and we all wish we weren't held by them.)
If the first lease had a depth clause or the FP did not cover the new HZ zone, then you might be able to lease. It depends upon the wording of the clause.
Then here is the one a lot of folks are griping about….
If the first lease had a deeper depth clause and the new HZ zone is deeper than the clause, you can lease, BUT if the HZ zone is shallower than the current productive zone and the company won't release that shallow zone (even though they never drilled it in a reasonable time as a reasonable operator should), then folks are upset that they are being held by an old lease when they could get better terms now. Some folks demand that the upper zone be released, but they are having a hard time getting it to happen.
Latest I have from my cousins in Oklahoma: "01-1S-5W" Spud on 5/15/2014 and should be producing by summer or fall of 2014. "2-1S-5W" Spud on 7/8/2014 and are drilling now. "11-1S-5W" Maybe by fall 2014. I did sign a top lease and returned it on 6/23/2014. "12-1S-5W" Spud on 2/16/2014. This one is producing and can expect payment in December of 2014.
Hal,
Are these all H wells?
Thanks, K Dawn
Eileen, I tried to send you a color coded Excel Sheet by copying and pasting but the color didn't come with it. Maybe this will help you figure out the madness. I just know I look at it often to keep my mind straight when everyone is talking about sections we don't have. Your relatives and my Grandpa must have conspired at the same time when they originally leased these sections of land. LOL

That didn't go as well as I had planned. Sorry. the columns from left to right are Location, Name, Mineral Acres Leased, Lease or Div. Order, Effective Date of Division Order, Lease Start Date, Lease Expiration Date, Duration of the lease. The Spud Dates and other information are on the spread sheet too, but this blog is not wide enough for it to copy. [If you hear anything, be sure and let me know and I will do likewise. I live in Texas. I have 2 brothers and some cousins that have interest in ours. Myself and one brother live in Texas, and one cousin in Georgia, and the rest of my cousins live at and around Oklahoma City and from time to time, the cousins in Oklahoma City will communicate changes.
As far as whether they are H=Horizontal or V=Vertical, I am not certain. When I looked this information up I was switching back and forth and might have over looked that information or it was not on the paperwork. But.... most of them are Horizontal as to my understanding. They are old wells that the new frac technology has allowed them to squeeze a bit more out of them.
I hope this answers every ones questions.

This may provide some more information in one spot. I copied and pasted columns closer together for you all.

The information that I have is Marathon. We leased through Hal C. Smith though on 11-1S-5W. Most recently my brothers and I signed a top lease where I had heard that they were having a hard time getting drilling rigs to the site before the original lease ended on 11-1S-5W.
1-1S-5W lease does not end until January of 2015 and we are hoping that they will have everything they need to drill before then. When we signed the original lease it was with Jack Fork. As far as pooling I don't know anything about that either.
My brother told me this morning that my cousin in Oklahoma told him that 36-1N-5W now had three wells on it, but we have not noticed any increase in revenue. Could be they are not finished yet or they may be holding off until the price of oil goes up. I can very easily see that with all the turmoil going on in the world.
As for Marathon, all I have is the information on the lease. Marathon Oil Company, P.O Box 68, Houston, TX 77001-0068 The contact I had at Hal C. Smith was Selena Freymiller (Landman) at P.O. Box 5148, Norman, OK 73070-5148 Ph. 405/321-2370
Any news about Sec 14?
Is there an update on section 11 1S 5W or 13 1S 5W or 14 1S 5W? Nobodies commented on it since September!
