Hi, Assume an oil well has been completed in more than one zone of production. Since we have multiple zone completion, does this mean we also have “down hole commingle” of production?
Thanks, Austin Wright

Yes you do unless the operator has a pressure, water, or gas in solution problem and needs to produce the zones separately. If the zones are already naturally communicating, it’s a good way to go until one zone becomes uneconomic. If you are a working interest owner, it’s going to get expensive either way. Hope for offset wells that eliminate the commingling if it has become a production problem for the operator.
