This is a cross post, suggested by the nice folk in theOil & Gas Leasing Help section. I just got an offer to sell my approx.18 acres, non-participating royalty interest in Section 43, Block 35, T-6-N, Dawson County. Should I hold or sell? And what’s a decent price? The would-be buyer’s second offer to me is $433 an acre. Thanks in advance,
metropetro it kinda depends. Since your interest is a NPRI you wont get any bonus money from leasing. While the property looks good in terms of location it will probably be awhile before any development comes on your section specifically. (Obviously, I dont have a crystal ball and they could go to your section next but they also have an additional 500+ section to choose from.)
Do you need 8k now? I think you can probably get a better number per acre for that property only thing being is that its a NPRI. However to hold or to sell is a personal decision.
