Hello, my name is Ted McVay and I inherited royalties in Helena. I am waiting on Marathon Oil to declare their acceptance of the characterization of my mothers deed as separate property from community property. It has been three years since half of the royalty has been released to me through division orders. Is there a time limit to how long Marathon Oil has to either accept here deed as part of community property or not? I was told by a friend that I should expect this process to take 3-5 years. Is that realistic? Thank you kindly.
