Two leases on property my family owns mineral rights have expired. They both were 3 year leases with an option to renew for two. It has been over three years on both. Shouldnt they pay or decline so someone else can lease. We are talking about Pecos county Texas.
The options in your leases are almost certainly worded so that there was no obligation for the lessee to extend the term for two years. You might contact the companies and inquire as sometimes mistakes are made by land departments.

Also, check county filings.
Ask for a release of lease if they do not intend to extend. File in the county courthouse.
Easier to file an Affidavit of non-payment of bonus than to wait for a release.

Same thing happened to me with a different company. I asked for a release and got one immediately. Just saying.
