My family owns numerous mineral rights in Dawson County. Yesterday I received an offer of 350/nma with a 3/16 royalty. While the 350 seemed in the ballpark, the 3/16 royalty seemed a little light as compared to some recent deals we have struck in Borden County. Antares Energy is the company and it’s on Labor 1, League 270. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Terry, can you please email me your contact information and net acreage? I can forward your info to some of my operator contacts and see if they have an interest in leasing your property. My email is [email protected]
Terry,
Welcome, first thing do you know what section and block that is labor 1 league 270, I have been on here for a while and no one can tell where those sections of land are with that, block and section is a lot easier, yes 350 and 3/16 is the the going rate for SOME of Dawson county, we have some leased for 350, some for 250, so it depends on what block and section it is. I am headed to work, so if you answer I will not see it till about 10pm. I can tell you it is going crazy out there. new permits almost everyday. in the last 5 months we have leased and hit 2 good producing wells with more to come I am sure. let me know the block and section and I can be more helpful.

Terry, I have a "cousin-in-law" who called me yesterday and said he got an offer of $500 and 25% in Labor 5 League 276 in the Glasscock County School land survey. I have a few minerals on two old farms my grandparents owned many years ago in Dawson Co. but neither are leased at present. One is located in the Munger area NW of Lamesa and one is about a mile NE of Lamesa just off the Lubbock HWY. Hang tough and good luck. johncundieff @yahoo.com
5/15/2014: New action in western Dawson county. I had a call today offering $500 plus ¼ royalty on Section 98 Block M. I remember a "dry hole" being drilled on this section years ago, but no production since. $500 and ¼ for the first offer seems to show some serious interest.
I have noticed several companies have expanded their acreage area in Dawson county. Even from just a few months ago. Compare quarterly reports from Pioneer from Dec to the one just released. Ii suppose it is elementary that acreage valuations will rise with increased interest.
Now that we are just beginning to see horizontal development in the county, valuations “might” take off.
