There are funds being held by Devon for my mother’s estate. We never had to go through probate in Colorado where she passed. In order to release the funds we must begin probate in Eddy county, NM. We had one guy (Landman) lowball us on the mineral rights with hopes of purchase a while back but first we must get probate started to access the funds in holding and decide if we will sell the rights. Does anyone know of a good Landman we could speak with?
I’m assuming Cooper Norris isn’t available? (sorry I watched another ridiculous episode of Landman last night)
I don’t think you need a landman or attorney to start probate but it probably helps. Maybe call John McCright with McCright & Associates in Midland. Assuming this is the prior 20 acres in 20s28e it’s probably worth his time.
I don’t know that he’s the greatest, but he seemed good enough and was actually independent. I know lots of other folks who could help you but they’d probably also be trying to buy your minerals.
If you have a probate requirement, why are you seeking a landman?
I worked with MacLind land services in Eddy County. They were very efficient and did good job. There are based in Dexter, which is in Eddy County.
On behalf of the residents of Eddy County, I must say that Dexter is in Chaves Cty, a distant land full of heathens and barbarian tribes.
I’m sure they have competent land folks there.
I stand corrected. I am lost in this conversation anyway…lol
