My elderly father inherrited mineral rights in Sheridian county. Contex Oil held the lease at one time, it seems to have expired a few years back. He would be interested in leasing it but is unsure how to go about it. He would also like to know what is ment by High, Med, Low ratings, and if wells were drilled during the time it was leased while his mother was reciving checks?
The location of the minerals is, Township 36, North Range 56 East, M.P.M.
section 10: E1/2
section13: NW 1/4
section 14:NE1/4, SW1/4
Thank you, , any information would be helpful.
Make sure that your father’s name and address and title information are properly filed with the recorder of deeds in Sheridan County. Landmen will go to the county courthouse to see who the mineral owners are. That is the official repository.
Not sure where those ratings are coming from, but they are probably fairly subjective depending upon their criteria.
I only see dry holes in that township. The closest wells were in sec 3 and 15.
Last leasing in section 10 was in 2012. Last leasing in sec 13 was in 2011. Last leasing in sec 14 was in 2011. Doesn’t look like much is happening at this time. Contex Energy leased back in 2007-11 depending upon the section.
