Finding out who owns Mineral Rights

Is there an easy way to find out who owns mineral rights on property in Reeves County? Will any information at the Tax Appraiser's website or office have this information?

Or is a Title Search needed?

A title search would be the easiest.

I found the tax appraisal info to be lacking when I looked a couple of years ago.

You can also buy maps from Midland Map that has that info updated pretty regularly. You might search that on this site. They aren’t cheap, but may be cheaper than a title search… and suitable for framing to boot!

The Appraisal district will only have a mineral account set up if there is production to be taxed, in most cases.
