I have inherited various minerals, mostly in Texas, that were in a Bank Trust Department since the 1960s, and have nothing but deeds of distribution. So I am trying to rebuild the files by finding the original leases. In my research, I found an ORI in Nacogdoches County, recorded, and no mention of the lease referred to in it being recorded or abandoned. There is production on 2 of the tracts (API 347-33231 and API 347-33200), but I don’t know how to tell if it is under the lease referenced in the ORI, or the history of production on the tracts. Is this worth pursuing?
Do you have more details on the override? Does it cover the entire unit or certain wells?
Overrides are usually bound by the term of the lease at the time they are created. You might check to see if those wells have been in production consistently since the 60s.
Yes, it covers the entire unit. Guess I will get more acquainted with the RRC. There seems to have been some monkey business at some time because a Lis pendens was filed against the property.
Camille,
Both of these are horizontal gas wells. They started producing
in June, 2012. It is well worth pursuing. It is possible the
operator is looking for you. The operator is EXCO Operating.
I would give them a call.

Thanks for the push!
