What would be the process to claim your mineral interest portion of production and lease bonus of an old lease, if you were never contacted nor have funds in suspense? Is there a time limit on when you can claim bonus and royalty owed?
If you have no funds in suspense, and there is/was production, I'd bet you are going to have to prove how you came to own the rights, and that you do have clear title to them.
The companies producing the property have probably paid *someone* that they believe owns the rights.
Would you elaborate more on your situation, how you got the mineral rights, production history, etc.?
I would doubt that you own any mineral interest if there are no funds in suspense. You will probably have to prove somehow that you own the minerals. How did you get your mineral interest?
It appears (still researching) that a small mineral interest ,1/16 undivided in 53.88 acres, falls in a lease of 688 acres. This interest has been in my family since the early 1930's and deeded to me in the early 1960's. If it is the case that somehow I was missed in the leasing and distribution, can I recover any or all owed for my interest?
