Ron,
Thank you for the report on Chesapeake sales. If I remember right, China purchase at least 3 motels in Woodward last year or maybe the year before to bring several of their people in so they could learn the trade. It’s sad that our American companies are selling us out. Most of the wind companies are foreign owned, and lots of our oil companies.
Wonder if we will charge them tax on production like Canada and Mexico does us. We just got our K-1 and I was shocked the amount of tax we paid to Canada and Mexico.
Chad,
I don’t think very many people like Chesapeake. I hate to see all our oil and gas being bought by foreign counties. They are owning us piece by piece. Chesapeake has my lease on most of my property in TX and I have never been able to figure out how a person can have 3 different percentage out of the same well. Now the second well has different percentage again and it’s all under the same lease that was support to be 24%. I understand pooling and the acres are the same on all the wells.
The tax to Canada and Mexico had something to do with an Energy partnership, I’m not sure why, except my CPA said it came out of the profit or lost. I think it was only 1 to 2 %, may have something to do with the amount I have in it. A lot less than Oklahoma State tax. I think Oklahoma tax is about 5.5%, not sure. I know Oklahoma takes all your income for the bracket and not just what you made in Oklahoma. I let my CPA take care of all that. He is totally gray headed now, so I will let him do the worrying. I just look at the bottom line and start asking where did these loses come from and why don’t I have more left. He always said taxes and loses. I do understand profit, but not sure about all the write off and taxes.
Thanks Virginia!!
As for your sentences, “I hate to see all our oil and gas being bought by foreign counties. They are owning us piece by piece.” I’ve got one thing to say, AMEN SISTER!!
Thanks for the article on Chesapeake. I happen to agree with Fadel Gheit, with his observation of the fire sale. Maybe they wouldn’t have to constantly sell off assets if they didn’t waste so much on sports team advertisement and buildings (sorry I just don’t care for them or Sandridge).
Virginia, why did you have to pay tax to Canada and Mexico? And if its not too much to ask, what was the rate and was it above and beyond the Oklahoma State tax?
I have minerals in Sec 6…24n…3W.
Does anybody have any information what minerals are selling for in the area?
Thanks…

Yes Virginia, they are a leasing company. This will be the third leasing company since 2008. I get offers all the time to sell my mineral rights. I have no desire to do that.
I am actually section 27-20N-3W
I had actually been told it was Limestone wanting to drill.
Betty,
They are probably wanting to buy minerals as they are probably getting ready to drill in your area. I have never heard of Layton Hill. Are they a leasing company or what?
Any new movement in SE corner of Garfield County? Mine are located SE of Covington about 10 miles west of Perry. It is currently leased.
I am so new at this it is unbelievable. I have been receiving offers to buy my mineral rights regarding Section 8-20N-6W. Today my neighbor came to my door with a message from Layton Hill (I changed my phone when I divorced). Has anyone heard of this company? I believe they want to release the land, though I am not sure since I was off work way after their office hours.
Deborah,
The only well that I know of at this time was drilled last fall on section 26-20N-3W. Drilled by Limestone and haven’t seen any reports on this well yet. I was being hooked up to salt water well in Nov. Wish we could see a report
Deborah,
Sorry, wrong legal.
Should be 26-21N-3W, Garfield Co.
Oh my, thanks Virginia…My family has some leases in Texas County, unfortunately with Chesapeake. I thought the checks looked a little low, and I wouldn’t doubt if they are doing the exact same thing there. Bloody rockstar you are!!!
