Any activity in 31 3N 4W? I have been receiving several offers to purchase my mineral rights.
Ron, do think that they may redrill some of the Purdy wells or drill them horizontally? I would sure like them to get more production. Thanks, Tom
Continental sent a proposal for a well in 21-03n-04w last week.
31 3n 3w has had no activity yet.
James,
They have applied for permits, been issued permits, are drilling or have drilled in 6 of the 8 surrounding sections.
Take a look at the graphic maps thread in the Stephens County section. I included 3N-4W in the map.
James…31 3N 4W is right in the middle of all this action with a well drilled from Sec. 33 3N,4W to Sec. 4, 2N,4W in Stephens Co. called The Mashburn. It was a very good well drilled by Newfield. On the next Section south of The Mashburn is The Wright well and the next section south of that is our The Branch well which is also a great well as is the one just west of The Branch which is the Poteet that Continental drilled. Now they are planning and drilling on nearly every section on the east and west of all those wells. Yes, I’d say there is a lot of action all around your section in Garvin. If you have not leased your royalty out to anyone you might want to call Jackfork Land who leases for Continental or Energy Land LLC (I believe) who leases for Newfield as they are the main players in the area and see if they would be interested in leasing. We’ve all been getting some big offers for that royalty around there. We’ve been offered as much as $6,000. an acre and these last offers have been for $4,500. but we decided not to sell. It would matter, I guess, whether you wanted a quick dollar or close to 100 dollars a barrel later if they drill on you. It’s in the south part of the Cana Woodford Shale and I believe part of what they were calling the “sweet spot” in their quarterly report. I believe someone on here said they are getting ready to drill on Sec. 32 but I’m not sure about that one. Check out the maps of that area that are listed on the Stephens Co. forum that one of the guys have put on there as one of the discussion topics (it’s at the top of the page I believe). They are great!!
Check this out too~about some of the good wells and the sweet spot!

James The best well in 3n-4w is in 30. It tested 350 BOD 7100 MCF.
James… if you’ll notice on the website I sent you below the Faith well was Newfield’s first really good horizonal well in the area. I believe it is only a few miles north of you and they now have three (and did have four) rigs on that same section drilling four more Faith wells at one time. One has just gotten finished and the company man told Preston this morning that they are going to rig down off of all before they frac and then they are going to frac them all at the same time!!! That should be interesting. He also said one time before that if this multiple well drilling doesn’t adversely affect the first Faith well that they intend to drill multiple well on their other sections where they have gotten good wells. Yahoo!!! I hope that’s us on the Branch!!! I hope you get to join the excitement soon! Best Wishes!
I hope so too. 36 3n5w looks promising for me. I share a few hundred acres with my 3 brothers in 36 and 25. We are all waiting patiently. And then smaller amounts in 31 3n-5w and 14 4n-4w
Tom I am not sure how that is going to play out, but I feel sure I'll just get 1/8th on my interest what ever they work out . We have some that part of the section is in the unit and part is not so I will do better there.
Ron, are my sections over part of the woodford shale, that is so popular? I just thought they might want to do some horizontal drilling there if it was. Tom
Tom I have had lease offers in 4n-4w so could be.
Whitt 1H-25, 25-3n-4w drilled from 36 339 BOD & 2556 MCF 38/64 choke shut in pressure 1940. Williams 1H-19, 19-2n-3w 298 BOD & 193 MCF 48/64 choke, shut in pressure 2600,flow tubing pressure 220
The graphics map indicates Sec 28 3N 4W as being spudded in. If so, is the well to produce for Sec. 28 3N 4W or is it drilling to another Sec. as was done with the Mashburn in Sec. 4 2N 4W that was drilled from Sec.33 3N 4W. And does anyone know the present status of Sec.28 3N 4W activity?
The “Mashburn” which was drilled from Sec. 33 in Garvin to Sec. 4 in Stephens was a really good well but they haven’t put a sign on that one yet either! So Lloyd and Bob don’t feel too bad. I guess they are drilling faster than the sign company can make signs. Who knows??
Pamela…That’s right in the middle of all this great action! A great well was drilled just one section left of you in Stephens Co. Sec. 12 2n,4w. According to Continental’s Investor’s Call today we haven’t seen even a tiny bit of what’s fixin to happen down here. (all good action for the royalty owners). You should be able to get a good bonus. I certainly wouldn’t take less than a thousand an acre and 3/16 but some are taking less bonus and getting a better percentage like 1/5th. I don’t want to tell you what to do but “forced pooled” is not usually a bad thing either and usually you will get more bonus money that way. Some others on here can tell you more about that than I can.
I’m going to be away from the computer this evening so this is my last post for the day. Best Wishes Everyone!
Where is he tax data base for oil transactions in ok. ? Anyone?
Linda, we have an offer to lease in Garvin Cnty, Sec. 07 2N 3W. Do you know what’s happening there? We’re wondering how much time we have to respond. Don’t want to get pooled if we can help it but this will be our 1st lease & want to get all the facts before we sign. Thanks
Richard,
Section 28 3N 4W should be marked in the application stage.
Correction coming.
Does anyone know anything about Sec 33 3n 4w that NFX and Marathon are fighting over? I believe the well is going to be named Mashburn 1-33.
