Repost to make corrections:
Just received our highest offer yet for Stephens Co. Sec. 16 2n,4w for $8,000 an acre for minerals only. This one is from Brad Odom for Cedar Valley Investments, LLC in Pauls Valley. I know I’m on the wrong forum but thought some might want to know since we’re all in the Scoop together! That’s the one with the Branch well and five more in the making so I’m sure that’s what makes it more desirable. That and the fact that Newfield just brought in the Casados well making 800 bbls. of oil and 10 million cubic feet of gas a day! It’s right beside the Branch wells but going south instead of north. That’s a Dandy!!!
Ron, that would be the precision 102 that drilled north into Sec. 21-3N/4W
the Dicksion…1-21H for CR.
Tica McGarity-I buy and sell leases and minerals for individuals and oil companies. The standard starting point to buy minerals is to add the last three lease amounts received together and in most areas this is a fair price. But ultimately it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There are some minerals in Garvin County that would sell for as little $50 an acre because they are in areas that have never had a well or haven’t been leased in 20 years, but the $8,000 below is the highest I have seen. Hope that helps a little.
Darla…Yes, the man that made the big offer below let me know that the reason they could offer so much was because of the multiply wells they were drilling and that it’s not an amount they would be able to offer for most other minerals. But we appreciated it!
Garvin: Cimarex Energy Co. of Colorado; Sarah Hodges No. 1 Well; C SE1/4 NE1/4 NW1/4 of 18-01N-02W; 460 barrels oil per day, 1,366,000 cu-ft gas per day; TD 10,674.
Are there any descendants of James W. Garner in this group?
Greg, you are in the right place. I will see what I can find out, but there may be someone on here who already know.
Gregory, There was a permit issued Dec 11. Drilling started Dec 26. Drilling may be complete. I’d say it will be producing in the next couple of months.
is this the right busines to be in with only 10 acres of mineral rights? its part of a 160 acre section, i guess out there in garvin county. i could use the dough if its a hot prospect.
Grergory…Your royalty is right in the middle of what Continental calls the “Scoop” and what Newfield calls the “Sweet Spot” of the south Cana Woodford! There are great wells being drilled all around you. Who did you lease to? I’m going to send you a couple of links that explains the area you are in where there is a Oilfield Boom Going On! Congratulations on your inheritance!

There are several more articles about this hot spot in the South Cana Woodford if you want to hunt back on this Garvin Co. forum but most have been posted on the Stephens Co. discussion group or the Cana Woodford Shale group. The South Cana Woodford involves nearly all of Grady Co., west side of Garvin, NE corner and east side of Stephens and Carter Co. so you’ll find discussion about the Scoop on each one of the groups. Good Reading!!
is anything happening in section 20-3N-4W? i have 10 acres there of mineral rights only.
what forum do i use to find out about section 20 in garvin county?
thanks michael. yeah, im brand new, live out in california, and i dont have a clue. but, i have been advised to keep my mineral rights and not to sell. i have been offered $6,600 per acre to sell my rights. i have never seen much money ever, and $66,000 sounds good to complete a 10 acre mineral rights deal…but, my section might produce, who knows???
thanks rick. i am just a lil’ strapped for cash out her in cali. i was even thinking of going for a collateral loan on my mineral rights. yeah, i need a few dollars to get by this next month. im talking theres a need out here.
i was offered $66,000 to sell my 10 acres of mineral rights by blackhawk mineral partners, sir named brad odom, cedar valley investments. its a pickle for me. guess i should just wait it out, huh?
cool, michael. i guess i’ll wait this out, then. how can i get a visual of the land, or a glimpse of the wells out there? is it private or public ?
I asked at the end of last year about activity in Stephens county and am now wondering about activity in Sec 13 2N 2W Sec 14 2N 2W Sec 23 2N 2W Sec 34 2N 2W Thanks for any info anyone can provide! I havent heard anymore from anyone about Sec 4 1 N 4W in Stephens but have my fingers crossed !
Greg, Wife and I were by there last Sunday and the Precision 102 Rig that was drilling Sec. 20 3N/4W is down and gone. Drilling complete.
richard, does that mean there wont be any oil coming out and they’re moving on? like, no activity?
