Hey Richard…That ain’t nice! lol I’d take it if they would send it but we also went down and looked around and you are right it’s nowhere to be seen! Probably some of those Grady Co. critters took it! Looked like they had graveled the location that I think will probably be the pad for the 5th Branch rig and they had a dump truck parked across the gate opening I guess to keep us prowlers out! There was pipe in the derrick of the second rig over in the line which I think was the third one to be moved over there (143 I believe). They may have gotten along smoother than the rest, I don’t know.
I couldn’t tell anything about the Vanarkel on 15 2n,4w. Nothing going on that I could tell. I don’t even think they have fracked it yet. They have what I think is the temporary wellhead (according to the video) but the permanent well head/Christmas tree is not there. (That’s Continental)
The “Boles” rig I believe has been fracked and they are flowing back from the looks of things. The location was so muddy we couldn’t get close enough to talk to anyone.
Still no action on Sec.29 2n,4w as far as a location for any well that we could see. What they HAVE built is I guess the huge location for the compressor station. Funny thing though, you’d have thought they were going to build a prison as they had built a tall state of the art pipe and wire fence and even put three rows of barbed wire around the top. They don’t plan on anyone slippin in there for sure! The gate was locked and a couple of Cats (not the feline kind) were setting inside.
Gate was locked going to the Whatley and the Poteet. Continental are not being very friendly neighbors.
On the way back we went over to the Campbell and they were working with light plants and looked like they had the crane like things running the coiled tubing so It shouldn’t be long before they frack according to the order that Newfield does things. They have built 6 tanks on that location instead of what seems to be the standard 4 (5 oil and 1 water it seems). Lots of action down there especially for a Sunday night.
By the way the Nabor’s rig is still sitting on the second Kelly location on Sec. 2 2n,4w. Couldn’t really tell they were doing anything but there were some guys all standing out by a pickup and several trailer houses were still there. They may start moving out tomorrow if that’s the plan. We figured if it was they wouldn’t start on a Sunday.
We could see the lights of the “Floyd” in the distance and the rig that I believe is still on the Poteet Disposal well. Also the lights of the rig that’s left north of Rush Creek. Richard, is that one ya’lls or was it the one that left off of 20? I know yours is on 28 but I can’t remember where the pad is. All I know for now. More update as they become available!
Cactus Rig 108 was on Sec. 20 3N/4W . The pad to drill Sec. 28 3N/4W is located on SW corner of Sec. 21 3N/4W and has been built and standing vacant for the better part of 2 months as best as I can recall.
Here is the location and directions to the pad -
TW = turn west, TS = turn south, etc, etc.
“SW SE SW SE-22-6N-6W-195FSL-1800FEL - ALEX TW ON HWY 19 .25 MI TO CR 2920; TS 7 MI TO CR 1520; TE 1 MI; TN TO LOCATION”
I saw the Cactus Rig 108 sign on Highway 19 as I went toward Chickasha today just east of Soldier Creek and the road went south off of the highway. Daniel…how far south is the “Prim 1-22H” off of the highway?
Chris Yes it is a depth clause . The unlisted are not subject to the pooling and can be leased . Also under the pooling they only have the time allowed in the pooling, 6 to 12 months to drill or they will have to pay another bonus to get another pooling.
No on Triad and Horizontal drilling, but there are others leasing in 16 that have and can drill horizontal even if Triad has some leases.
Energy Lease has it, Judy Lamb
Daniel…So from where I saw the sign on the highway I see you go 7 miles south, 1mi. E and north into. Pretty clear now. Thanks!
It is a different formation and a different type well is why it is 160 acres. I think they will still drill a Woodford well on 640 acre spacing. They also may drill some more 160 acre wells in other parts of 16 . Triad has leased in other part of 16. Where is your interest ? Continental Just finished drilling in section 21 south of 16, a Woodford well on 640
My interest is in the SE/4 of 16 3N 4W. I leased it through Energy Lease. I guess they were leasing for Triad, but I don’t know for sure.
Has Triad done any horizontal drilling in the area?
Ron, thank you for the info. Maybe I should try to find out who holds the lease on my interest.
I assumed that one company would hold the leases on the entire section. Maybe that isn’t the case.
This is disappointing news about Triad pooling 160 acre spacing on Sec 16 3N 4W. My minerals are not in the SW/4 of that section. I did see the piece in the paper requesting a hearing on Feb. 19 for this hearing. Why do you think they are going with 160 acre spacing? Has Triad done other wells in the area?
I didn’t say what I meant to say below. I meant to say that I thought Energy Leasing only leased for Newfield only but I may be mistaken. They are the ones that leased ours for Newfield and everyone I know in the Scoop.
You might try to call the Owner Relations number on the Newfield website and tell them your legal and ask if they are the ones that have it leased. They are very nice there.
Judy, Your lease was filed in book 1942 at page 254 of the Garvin County records. It was assigned to Newfield on November 29, 2011 in book 1964 at page 46. They still hold the lease as Newfield has not sold any of their leases in this section.
I’m glad to know that Newfield has our lease. Thanks to everyone for the info.
I too thought that Energy Leasing was leasing for Newfield, but now it looks like Triad is in the mix. I really don’t know who has our lease.
Triad is just leasing down the Deese formations in SW 16 3N 4W as discussed a few pages back. This means you can lease at the same time for deeper formations & it also means they probably paid lower bonus amounts for the lease since it isn’t for all depths – if you are under lease with them. Otherwise presumably they have an agreement with those already holding leases on deeper rights – so no new lease for interest owner in that case.
The SW/4 well is a “test” well so presumably if the test is good they will drill more in the section.
Triad didn’t seem to be pursuing the horizontal wells when I talked with them, both because they are not leasing down to the Woodford and also it seemed liked the economics of the horizontal exploration (up to 10x that of their vertical wells) were not in their sweet spot as an operator at the moment.
Again, just relaying what I took away from a discussion with the Triad folks after learning they are pooling us. From my checking they have a reputation as a good operator and I found them to be very helpful in explaining their take on what was going on in the area.
