Judy, this is a late late reply but I have some insight on this. Triad is pooling for the Deese formations (vertical wells) and Newfield is pooling for the Woodford (deeper and horizontal). You can lease to both provided the leases are to specific depths & both can drill separate wells.
Near as I can tell on the Newfield pooling they are trying to avoid offering 1/4 interest as they successfully did on another recent pooling, and they are getting major push-back from some of the larger interest holders. I get the sense from others that Triad is the one pushing back on it, but that is not from the horses mouth. Now, this is all 3rd hand so don't put much weight into it.
The basic answer to your question is that they are after different depths in the poolings -- your lease may, however, be for all depths so you can't get a second lease with Triad until the Newfield lease expires.

Clint, I know you keep up with the OCC website, so I wondering if you would know why both Triad and Newfield have pooling hearings scheduled for sec 16 3N 4W scheduled for Monday, August 12? I am leased to Newfield, and the pooling hearing has been postponed several times. Triad seems to have some portion of the section. Can two companies be involved in the same section?
