Geothermal fracking

Is anyone keeping up on geothermal fracking technologies/opportunities? Enhanced geothermal systems draw upon O&G fracking technologies and expertise and produce electricity from the hot water (700 degrees F). Here’s a Time magazine interview that covers the basics. I raise the issue because, as with pore space, it is unclear who owns the heat. As things stand now in CA, HI, an NM the mineral owner owns the heat, in TX it’s the surface owner, and in WY it’s whoever has the water rights. This sounds like a mess. At the moment, geothermal fracking is not happening in traditional O&G areas, but as the technology improves, this could change.
