Thought I would start a discussion area on various maps people have been creating.
Here is one I built following the recent horizontal wells in NorthEast Stephens Co and the surrounding area. It currently show wells that have been permitted, spudded, and or completed. As I make changes, I'll save it to the same file name.
Please let me know if you see any mistakes or omissions so I can correct them. I'll try to add the sections with applications to the OCC in the future.
Edit 10/09/2012: Here is the blank Stephens County Grid
Good map Rick! You can change the color on Sec. 4 if you want because it's The Mashburn that I was telling about this morning. It's completed and on production choked down and making about 260 bbls. of oil a day, around 6 mil. cubic feet of "wet gas" and Newfield has set the big unit to separate or refine?? the propane. They have also set the propane tanks like they have on the Branch, The Wright and The Baxendale.
Don't forget ole Section 20, 2n,4w where they are drilling the Whatley. Lloyd and Bob haven't forgot it, for sure! lol
I believe they have a permit for Sec. 20, 2n,3w in Garvin if you want to include it. (I thought they were getting ready to drill The Studdard and my mother in law has a tiny bit of that).
I had 20-2N-4W in the list but failed to mark it on the map. On 20-2N-3W, Newfield has location, spacing, and pooling applications that have been approved. I don't see a permit issued yet however.
Good to know on the 20-2n-3w. Someone had said they saw a drilling rig on it but when we went down the other day we didn't see one. (only a work over rig on an existing well they had along the hiway 29). We really couldn't see the whole section, of course, because of lots of trees. I believe they said it was going to be drilled from the section south of it (which would be Sec. 29, 2n,3w). So when they get the permit and start drilling it might be easier to see at night.
Rick...According to your map Sec. 15 2n,4w has an application in. That would answer our question, I suppose, about why they were doing the dirt work for what looks like a location on 15 on the east side of the Sec. close to hiway 76. They are really closing in the gaps in 2n,4w. We just need them a little further down to reach us in 29 and 34. Thanks for the info. and the great map!
Your information is much appreciated. To make sure that I am reading the map correctly, I believe that my rights in section 7,1N, 6W would be one grid to the west of the bottom right hand corner of your map. Am I correct in assumption? Thanks for your help.
Rick the map is excellent...very helpful..thanks for helping us inexperienced people out! Looks like it took some time so thanks for sharing...as always you are the best!
