I just found out that I inherited 10 net mineral acres from my grandmother, who died in 1970. I am being offered $200 per acre and 3/16th royalty for a 5 year lease. The property is E/2NE/4 Sec 10 Block 5, H&TC Ry Co Survey. What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Too low. These articles may help get you started- http://www.mineralrightsforum.com/profiles/blogs/internet-resources-for-mineral-owners http://www.mineralrightsforum.com/profiles/blogs/i-may-own-minerals-so-now-what
Diana, can you please send me an email? I know an operator that may be interested in your acreage, and they would pay much higher than you have been offered.
Diane,
Depending on what county your in, I just leased 40 acres in Ector and it brought a $1200 an acre bonus and 25% of the Hole, no transportation costs or make ready costs either. 3 year lease. You might want to consider having your lease looked at by a Attorney, after all the Oil Companies giveth in Big Print and taketh away with small Print.
So protect your Mineral Interests with a set of eyes that knows what he is doing.
Sincerely,
Chris Wilson
