Henry Vollentine Survey

Any drilling activity in the Henry Vollentine Survey? Or in that general area?

It is more helpful if you give the Block, Abstract and Section.

I think abstract # is A-479, but no drilling in this survey since around 1980 and all verticals. They do lease the lands often, but nothing after that. EOG is suppose to put a unit just north in the Lyons survey. To the west in the edwin Richerson survey Matrix is active.

Here’s an image that shows the activity. Not much going on in the Valentine.

To clarify, I guess you’re talking about the HRS J LYONS Survey A-282 as opposed to the GW LYONS Survey A-288? Oh and there’s the small Economy Sized HRS J LYONS Survey A-283. Any of them will do, IMO but just curious.

Off the subject, but apparently the woods were full of Lyons family back in the day to the point where there was a town named after them. Lyons, TX (Fayette County)

Yes, the J Lyons survey is what I was referencing to. The EOG unit/pad is on the comer of FM 957 and CR 244 (southern entrance to CR 244) on the Steffek property. From what I heard most of these surveys/land were given to officers in the Mexican/American war. I heard J Lyons was scalped by Indians. My great-great grandfather came from Germany with his immediate family and was given 3000 acres in the northern vollentine/valletine Survey and Southern J Lyons survey (Lavaca river ran through the middle of it.) Most of them are buried in the Beslau cemetery on the corner of FM 957. Legend has it as the Mexicans retreated in the war they buried a lot of gold along the river under a tree. Have not found it yet…still looking…

Might still find “Black gold- Texas Tea”…

As a person hooked on the TV treasure hunting shows such as Oak Island I recommend finding a TV show producer ASAP.

The Lyons of Indian lore fame are buried in the SBG City Cemetery.

The ten thousand foot view of the Surveys is interesting because they seem to be looking a little more SE than most but it’s logical when taking into consideration the overall EOG leases.
