Horzontal drilling on land with multiple owners

I have mineral rights in ND where some drilling is taking place, not right on /over our mineral rights but within a few miles, how do we know whether they are sucking oill out of where we own the rights, and how would someone know if some company was drilling where we own the mineral rights, is there a way of checking? would anyone notify us, we dont own the surface land, just the mineral rights, in Mohall ND

I am confused as to how this works, thanks

Mary Ann

Go to https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/. Click on GIS map server, find section, enter your township, range and section. Use the map tools to pan around your area or check info on the existing wells.

Mary:

Your mineral area is located in a spacing unit, just like all other mineral owners. If an oil company is drilling or has drilled a well where your spacing unit is involved, then you would be contacted. As Kevin states above, you can always use the GIS mapping system on the NDIC website to view what's occurring in your area. Good luck.
