Sorry, but I am having a hard time figuring out which is my API number... Is it somewhere on my check stubs?
The API number is a Railroad Commission number and generally is not on check stubs.
"API" is an abbreviation of AMERICAN PETROLEUM INSTITUTE". It is a national system that indicates
STATE-COUNTY-INDIVIDUAL PERMIT number. API numbers are occasionally on the check stubs but can be found by cross referencing the Regulatory State Number on the check stub with the API number through the state regulatory system.
Hey, Lopsided -
What is the name of your well and who is the operator? What State and County is it in?
I'll look it up for you.
If you live near where the well is, the API number should be on a sign at the entranceway to the well.
