Just want to find out how to get an estimate on how much my mineral rights were worth when I inherited them.
There’s no general solution, I think. But if you’ll say where the mineral rights are, when the decedent died, and whether the mineral properties were or were not producing at that time, someone here might have an answer for you.

Yes, we can probably give a $/NMA ballpark for general information if it’s not too complex a position, but if there’s any complexity to the mineral estate (lots of different sections/counties), or if it was any decent amount of time ago (>5 years), you might need to contact a specialist.
If you’re trying to determine if it’d be worth spending the money for a retrospective appraisal for capital gains basis, an appraiser should be able to look at the details you provide and have an idea if if the minerals could have enough basis to make it worth it.
