Received our first offer to lease family mineral rights in south Borden County, bordering Howard County. First for us - Grandma’s last lease was in 2000.
- How do you vet the entity offering the lease?
- The offer was low
- and there really wasn’t any legalize to speak of (which always makes me nervous).
So other than negotiating a better price, how do we know if we even want to do business with them?
Caveat: our NE/4 has had no activity (on Texas Drilling) and the SW/4 has a few dry holes and plugged wells. I know beggars can’t be choosy, but want to make smart decisions.
