How to transfer royalty rights in Texas

My sister and I both inherited small percentages of the royalty rights on two pieces of land, one in Goliad county and the other in Cochran county.

The Cochran land was leased a few years ago but no well was drilled and the lease has expired. The Goliad lease has two wells on it and was being operated by Sue-Ann Operating Company.

Is there an easy way to transfer my rights to my sister? I believe they are not worth enough to get a lawyer involved.

If you are doing a legal document of transfer, then it is always wise to get an attorney to do it properly. Then there will be no regrets for incorrect language or improper filing that does not accomplish the purpose. There are Texas attorneys listed in the Directories tab above.

Have your sister to pay a local attorney where the rights are located.
