Has anyone heard of a leasing company out of Midland called Tall City?? If so, do you have any contact information?
Jack, it won’t let me see the 2nd link because i don’t have a corporate email to sign up for Reuters.
Jennifer B… here is something from the web.

Thanks guys
Jennifer B. I think it was a video link from the first url i sent. try the denhamcapital.com/newsroom link in my first response. it didn’t have much other than they are spending a lot of money on energy.
Jennifer B. I wish i could be of some help. But it seems the companies trying to lease available minerals are being extremely secretive. I would expect a quick google search for Tall City would reveal it to be a company set up to lease for some an oil/gas company that doesn’t want to be known. i called the secretary of state’s office in Austin to see if a company i was researching was registered. it was. but it was a shell company… for a shell company doing business for a shell company… with LLC attached at the end. of course i could be wrong too. it’s very frustrating. good luck. jhh
We dealt with someone like that; but we kicked him to the curb. We appreciate up front landmen, makes for good dealing and great connections.
That link was very helpful; it answered my question right on the mark!! Thanks; has anyone dealt with them as far as leasing in Howard County. My husband’s family is in “talks” with them on leasing some of their interests.
we’re dealing with a “land man” but we don’t know who he is working for. could be your company…? but we don’t really know… and i’m not sure there will be a deal until we know. been a very strange negotiation so far. good luck with yours!
Titan River Energy formed to drill, develop Texas oil-prone shale plays
HOUSTON, Apr. 5
04/05/2013
By OGJ editors
Titan River Energy, a newly formed oil and gas company based in Fort Worth, announced a $100 million capital commitment from two private equity firms that Titan River will use to initially focus on drilling and developing oil-prone shale plays in Texas.
Titan River’s executives have experience in drilling and completing more than 400 horizontal wells in several major shale plays, with a recent focus on the South Texas Eagle Ford shale. Executives said they also are interested in the Wolfcamp shale (OGJ, Feb. 4, 2013, p. 38).
The Permian-age Wolfcamp shale is a source rock present throughout much of the Permian basin. Industry’s recent Wolfcamp activity has involved the southern end of the Midland basin.
Ridgemont Equity Partners and Post Oak Energy Capital committed $100 million to the Titan River management team. Titan River’s executives will be investing along with Ridgemont and Post Oak. No other financial terms were disclosed.
Charles Simmons Jr., Titan River chief executive officer, said the firm’s strategy will be to convert acreage into reserves via drilling joint ventures, farm-ins and leasing opportunities. Before starting Titan River, Simmons was a managing director of Pharos Financial Group and a managing director of Clear Creek Capital, a Dallas-based private equity firm.
Devon Energy Corp. (DVN), the third- largest U.S. independent oil and natural-gas producer, raised planned exploration and production spending 18 percent to as much as $6.5 billion this year, including projects in which it may sell a stake.
Devon budgeted $500 million for an undisclosed oil play and $350 million for the Cline Shale in Texas’ Permian Basin, Chief Executive Officer John Richels said today at an analyst meeting in Houston. Another $220 million will be spent on other undisclosed locations where Oklahoma City-based Devon is still acquiring leases.
Stakes in the Cline Shale, where Devon’s 500,000 acres may contain the equivalent of 3.6 million barrels of oil, and the undisclosed areas may be sold (DVN) next year for $1.35 billion to an unidentified joint-venture partner, Richels said. Devon expects to get $450 million in cash and $900 million in development spending from the partner, Richels said.
The agreement will be about “half the size” of its venture with China Petroleum Corp. (386), according to Vince White, Devon’s senior vice president for investor relations. That company agreed in January to buy a one-third stake in five Devon exploratory projects in the U.S. for $900 million in cash and as much as $1.6 billion in development costs.
“We’re very excited about the Cline,” Andy Coolidge, Devon’s vice president for the Permian Basin, said at the meeting. “We expect to deliver highly economic and robust production growth.”

what is the going price range per mna in howard county???
Is anyone leasing mineral rigts in Howard County?
Lots of mineral leasing going on
Who would you suggest I submit my egal description.
My grandfather gave me Howard County mineral rights for graduation from North Texas. I filed the mineral deed in Big Spring in 1969 when I went to work for the Big Spring Herald. He was Felix H. Leach. I am Francis K. Leach, jr.
The companies usually call you if they are interested, however you can research at the courthouse what locations most companies are interested and if yours is fairly close to their target locations, it could help you to try and contact someone from whatever company is leasing in your area.
