I keep getting letters from Newfield and TRP Midcon LLC for Sec-34-7N-4W

These two companies are going at it in this sectiopn.I am signed with TRP Midcon.Just todat I received another letter from the corparation Comission.I wont get into all the details because I now have probably 25 to 30 letters on this section either naming Newfield as the applicant or TPR Midcon as the applicant.TRP Midcon filed for an increased density order and it looks like it was granted, but then I received one with newfiels as the applicant say only one well will be drilled. Now there is an emergency order. The cause cd no.is 201800467,order number 681706…On January 16th 2018 Applicant Newfield filed its request order number 625248.On December 11th TRP Midconfil;ed cause CD NO. 201708351.Order- It is therefore Ordered by the corparation comission that TRP Midcon LLC be and it is by this order granted authority to commence operations to drill, test, and complete the proposed well during the pendency of the proceedings.TRP Midcon LLC is restricted from producing the subject well until final determination in this cause.Providedfurther, that thisOrder issubject to the final determination of the Commission and shall expire 90 days from the date of this order.Sorry for the long post.I am now totally confused because the last order I had from the commision was for and increased density order for 3 more additional well to be drilled by TRP Midcon. Now it seems the Newfield and TRP Midcon are in a pissing contest to see who wins. The whole deal is screwy because TRP Midcon Leased 640 acres in 34-7N-4W first. Then Newfield went before the comission and requested that they also be able to drill on the same 640 acres. If anyone has any advice as to what the hell is going on in Sec34-7N-4W I would appreciate any and all help to try and make sense of what is going on.Thank you,David27.

David, a meaningful response to your request would require the services of an attorney who practices before the OCC. Whether or not such an expenditure on your part is a good business decision is something to consider.

I know nothing about TRP Midcon except what you can find on the Internet, namely they were formed in 2016.

This is not to be taken as a wholesale endorsement of Newfield, but they have a lot of horizontal well experience extending back over a decade, and have the reputation of knowing how to drill and produce horizontal wells.

This is worth what you paid for it–the cost of the electricity consumed reading this post.

Hi, Dave,

I also have net mineral acres in 34-7N-4W and agree it’s very confusing. I’ve been learning how to navigate the OCC website. By using specific Cause Numbers and Order Numbers, etc, you are able to find/track all information on one page.

I think I may have sorted it out, but I’m new at this and make no guarantees. So let’s take a look at two of the latest documents.

  1. I believe Order Number 680998, signed by the Commissioners on August 6, gives each applicant 1 well. On the maps attached to the Order, both Cause Numbers are mentioned at the bottom of each page. The first Cause Number is for TRP, the 2nd Cause Number is for Newfield. It’s not surprising to me that the Commission would sign off on two wells. Remember, TRP had just recently applied for increased well density (Cause No 805339).

  2. The latest documentation I can find is Order Number 681706, signed by the Commissioners on August 20, in which the OCC granted TRP emergency relief to drill. The Order is good for 90 days, so there should be some activity in our section very soon. TRP is being allowed to drill, test, and complete the well – but there is to be no production.

Hope this information is helpful, not to mention CORRECT!

Kroix 34-7N-4W spud on Feb 26, 2018. It is located on the far east side of the section. Woodford and Mississippian listed as reservoirs.

Newfield’s map shows quite a few wells (if they get the order) that will start in the middle of section 3-6N-4W and go north into 34. They actually have the Kroix well listed on their maps. 201800468. Their first well was shown to start on the far west side of the section. Still pending.

TPR actually filed for the increased density.
Should be multiple wells drilled eventually.

Thank you all for clearing this up for me.
