I was of the understanding that I inherited Mineral rights in the Utica Shale, Southeastern part of Ohio. I was sent 170 shares of stock from Mid-Ohio Coal company. So my question is do I own Mineral rights and how do I find out more information or Do I just own stock in a company that owns the Mineral rights? I know this is vague but I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say on the forum. The Well is being drilled and producing but I only get a small dividend check and I want to find out if this is normal?
Sounds like you only have stock in the company. For mineral rights, you would have to inherit a deed through a probate.
