I just received an Application for Increased Density relief requested by Wildhorse Operating Co. Does anyone else own mineral rights in NW/4 NW/4 SW/4 of Section 23, 2S 2W..and what do we do with this. They are asking to allow the drilling and production from an additional well on the drilling and spacing unit and cmmone course of supply described. Do we respond to this or is this for information only. Do we need to act on it in any way. If it is indeed ordered is this a good thing?
What range and township ? Mine are in R2W, T2S, sections 11,12,13,24 ( all SW), so we could be next to each other on 23 and 25....

What is the highest spacing in the area? Right now NE of Ardmore it is 640, but XTO has requested an increase in Section 30 3S 3E.
Here are the results of the Order
ORDER OF THE COMMISSION
8. Relief Granted: The requested increased density well is authorized. The well
is permitted for the Woodford common source of supply underlying Section 30, Township
3 South, Range 3 East, Carter County, Oklahoma, a 640-acre drilling and spacing unit, as
an exception to Order No. 199785.
9. Allowable: If well is oil well, a 160-acre allowable. All gas wells on the unit
will share a single-unit gas allowable for said common source of supply. Provided,
however, that any existing wells shall be allowed to produce all of the allowable of which
they are capable, and the well authorized hereby shall be allowed to produce the
remainder of the unit allowable.

Up in the NW area of Carter County, they seem to punch a hole in the ground and usually hit oil in a few thousand feet.
NE of Ardmore the are drilling horizontal wells around 18,000 plus. Big companies are doing better that the little guy, as some of those are coming up dry or very low output.
Yes, there is a lot of oil there. My grandfather was the mayor of Ardmore at one time ( P.M. Brigance) and I remember him wheeling and dealing...wish I knew I was going to inherit this...I would have listened a lot more to what he was saying. He was friends with the Craigheads, Williams, etc. (the good ole boys) and I sure wish they were around now to pick their brains. I was wondering if TS Craighead is the son or grandson and the same with R.D Williams and some other companies. It's the leases clauses that I worry about not the money so much. I think I have signed some really bad leases and now read the heck out of it and still wonder whether its good or not...oh well...no pun intended. lol
What attorney do you use in Ardmore. We have had our leases looked over by Martin E. Dyer. We went with R.D. Williams on our lease, seemed at the time to be the best of our offers.
I suggest you join the National Assn. of Royalty Owners and attend their convention seminars. You'll learn from the newsletter but the seminars are tops. You will also learn from networking with other members. It wouldn't have helped much had you questioned PM & Bess - yes I knew them - because leasing has changed so much since their time. So has drilling & fracing.

I can't believe you knew my grandparents..thats great...I have joined NARO and went to the last convention in Tulsa..yes, I have a lot to learn...it is difficult but I am reading all I can...it's the leases I have problems with and things that were done before my time that I can't change and/or don't understand.
