Introduction

Hi. I'm new here. I have inherited some mineral rights, probably not much and I really don't know ANYTHING! about what I have or what to expect. I have been getting offers for my share. We were force pooled in May in Stephens Co Oklahoma. Sec 19 ? Anyone familiar with this? I don't have my papers here with me so I can't give any more details at this time. I have ignored offers so far.

Welcome Mitzi!

I'm afraid we need a bit more info. There are about 24 section 19s in Stephens Co. The description we will need will look more like Section 19 Township 2S Range 4W or 19-2S-4W.

Yeah that's it! No just kidding. I'm at work and I'll have to dig that stuff out later at home. I'll repost later.

Could be 19-2N/4W that one was pooled not long ago by Newfield.

If it's section 19 2n,4w in Stephens Co. you will get a piece of the new McElroy well. The rig just moved off yesterday and so before long they will be starting the fracing process which usually takes a few weeks and them flowing back and see what you have as far as oil, gas, condensate or ???

Here's a neat video on the type drilling they have been doing in our area called the "SCOOP" by CR and "The Sweet Spot" of the South Cana Woodford Shale. Do you think you have only one share? We only have about 3 and 3/4 shares in section 16 but when they finish drilling these 6 wells on it we're hoping it could add up to some good pocket change (maybe enough for a few packs of bubble gum!

Yes Michael that's it. 19-2N, 4W. and Linda thank you so much for the info and the interesting video. I have absolutely no idea how much I have but I do know we were force pooled in May and there were 81 people or entities in the pool. How would I find out how much I have? I understand so little about this stuff, I'm afraid there's quite a learning curve. I didn't sell though I was getting offers for a while.

I don't know for sure how for you to find out how much you have. If you have a name of the company who force pooled you I'd try that. Ask them if they can tell you how many acres they found for you when they force pooled. If they paid you any bonus you might could figure it out by dividing the total amount you received by the amount they said they were paying you per acre. But if you took a 1/4 percent you may not have gotten a bonus as most don't offer a bonus to give that big of a percent. I'm certainly not the sharpest tack in the drawer when it comes to figuring those things. I've learned a little by listening to my husband who had a career in the oilfield and even more from soaking up what people on here have told me. For years my husband tried to tell me things going on with work in the well service business but I didn't pay much attention when it didn't mean more money in my pocket. It just went in one ear and out the other but now I'm eagar to learn everything about it! Still, I'm better at eating or making pecan pies! lol Best Wishes!

Haha! Pecans are almost worth as much as oil! They're $13 a lb here! (hulled) That's one of the downsides of not living in Oklahoma and it's my favorite nut!

I took 1/4th in the force pooling with no bonus so I can't figure it that way. I'll dig my papers out and try to figure it out. I'll get on here next Wednesday or Thursday and post what it states on them because it's all greek to me. I won't be at a computer again until then. I've read a few a your posts and it seems you're definitely on top of things even if you don't understand it all. Maybe I should invest in a pecan orchard.

Pecans have been VERY scarce around here for a few years and very expensive but the crop was plentiful this last year and we stocked up for the freezer. Where do you live? We have one pecan tree in the back yard and father in law has a couple so we picked up and picked out after having them cracked and blown. I use a lot of them as they are also in my famous pecan chicken salad that I stole the recipe for from the Tea Room down town (but they don't know it unless they are reading the blog. lol They are not as expensive as oil around here but they are a lot better in pies! lol

i live in amarillo. Pecans don't really grow here very well and when you can get one to take root the pecans are like little mini-pecans; not worth the effort. Crude & pecan pies are definitely a bad idea! BUT if I have to choose I'll take the crude ; )

lol Same here! You have trouble sleeping too? Went to bed about 12:00 and woke up at 4:00, took a benedryle and now I'm sleepy about the time my husband usually gets up! Hate that!

no I'm at work! lol. i work nights in an office by myself. ...so if i'm not busy i'm ....uh, doing other things LOL! I'm about to go home though and go to bed so I'll talk to you later. Thanks for the info ! Get some sleep!

Linda, as long as you are so far off topic I'll take a Chocolate Fudge Pecan with a scoop of vanilla on top thanks!

lol I know I can always depend on Hutch to get me back on track!

Hi do you know the status of 16-2s-4w?
