Is anyone actually getting royalty checks from a well?

Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone has actually received a royalty check yet from Antero?

My family was told checks would probably start early 2015 ( the plan was start drilling this month Sept.) but we have not received any update info from Antero. thanks :)

Last May, the Antero landman told us "off the record" that it would take around 18 months before we should look for our first check. They were still in the research stage. He also said that at some point during this period, we would receive a Division Order. This would mean that they have broken ground and started the drilling. We should then be watching for royalties 6 to 9 months after that time. We have been negotiating with them on a lease modification, which should be signed and returned to them sometime this month.

thanks Robin, it has taken some time to get all of our heirs on board with this, kind of like 'herding cats'. I think everyone has now signed and returned their paperwork necessary to go forward. I guess I will be watching for a Division Order.

Anna, There are folks in Doddridge that have been receiving checks from Antero but has taken 6- 9 months after going on line. In my case I have two wells that went on line in Jan 2014, and still waiting for a division Order, So patience is the word.

thanks Arnold :)

It seems like the oil company was rush, rush, rush..just to hurry up and wait.

It took about two years from lease to royalties for me...Antero was more or less honest about the timing, but handed me a whole years check dated Dec 31 so I had to pay penalties to the state for not paying estimated tax. Sigh.

Anna, Just got off the line with Katelyn in Denver, She is processing a D. O as I write this, It is for a well in Doddridge County WV. The wells are the Gaskins #1-2, takes time but is happening, as Antero promised.

thank you Arnold and Teresa, I guess 2 years would be about right from the time we signed our Modifications. I have been watching another site to see if any Permits have been requested for our well/s . I hope there is more than one. I have no idea really where they will be drilling, just know its in Doddridge County..the map I have from the Landman really doesn't tell me much. thanks again.

To anyone ~ Will the permits be in the name of the original wells? I see many permits for Doddridge county, taken out by Antero, and all seem to be in the name of the owners. thanks~

Often the well is named after the surface owner. Not always. Unit names I think often have a mineral owner name in them.

Locating mineral interests if you don't own the surface can be complicated. We might be able to help a little here. If you have a map from the landman, that is the place to start. Does it list district and tax map number? If so you can get a copy of the tax map from the county assessor's office (should be able to anyway).

I think I need to contact an attorney in West Union. Does anyone on this page know of anyone who is up on this oil business and royalties? thanks :) I am in Ohio

We used Kyle Nuttall and were pleased with him. Others in this forum have also used him. He is also a forum contributor and forum member.

Ditto what Robin said.

Nancy is he in West Union?

thank you Robin :)

He is in Buckhannon. It is in Upshur County WV, 2 counties to the southeast of Doddridge. He does a lot of leases in the general northwest West Virginia area.
