Is there a benefit or need to handle probate in Texas if mineral rights owner lived out of state?

Hi all, I appreciate any insight you may be able to provide.

My uncle, who lived in Arizona (and never in Texas) recently passed away and owns mineral rights in a county in Texas. He has a pour-over will that was created when he established his revocable trust that instructs all assets in his estate that were not already in trust be put into ownership of the trust after his passing. The only remaining assets in his estate not already in trust are a couple of low value bank accounts and his mineral rights.

My question is, is there any benefit or need to probate his will in Texas as opposed to Arizona? Also, since this is a pretty straightforward will with no chance for additional claims, is a Muniment of Title probate possible for transfer of ownership if the owner did not reside in Texas?

Thank you for any and all help with this.

Visit with a Texas attorney how handles mineral probates. A good google search would be “How to Probate Oil and Gas Minerals in insert state name here”. You will likely find an informed attorney who can handle the matter on a flat fee without your needing to travel out-of-state.
