I’m trying to find a database? that has spot prices of gas per month per county to double check the prices being reported to me with my royalty checks. Does something like that exist?
Thank you, Scott

Don’t believe spot pricing would help you much. The price that an operator receives for oil or gas produced from a specific lease or well can depend on a variety of factors, including the specific terms of any sales contracts, the quality of the oil or gas, and other factors.
Someone chime in if I’m wrong or missing something though! Just don’t know how far this would get you.
I agree, different operators within the same county will have different price structures according to their contracts. Some might have a longer term contract and others may have a shorter term more spot price contract and those can be quite far apart.
Scott, I don’t disagree with the other 2 posts, but by its very nature, “spot” prices are all over the board as the gas is bought on the spot, between a seller & buyer. They decide the price at that moment in time. It is strictly a “I want it & got to have it & you got it” transaction. Spot deals are in no way indicative of contractual gas deals.
Thank you all so much.
