Is there any value in my share of a well that has been plugged and abandoned? How do I find that out? Not sure if the company is in existence or sold to another? How can I find current company or well info? API # 3501523294
It depends upon what other reservoirs might be available in that same tract shallower or deeper. Or if the well had mechanical trouble that could not be fixed, then there might be additional value if the reservoir is economic.
You can find well information at the OCC well records site. Type in the API number without the 35 since that is the state code portion. Form 1003 is the P&A record. Marathon is the operator.
@slicker, hard to say about the value of your ownership without knowing the exact nature of the ownership. Could be a working interest, ORRI, well-bore only, or mineral interest, etc.

Current operator is listed as Poblano Energy LLC out of Houston.
Marathon was the operator when the well was plugged in 2021.
