Alan_Herrington, do you read anything into that Key ORRI assignment that showed up in the latest Cherokee Co. Lease Alert?
The five leases it covers total about 730 acres but are in separate Abstracts 583, 956 and 715 that roughly line up east-west through the middle of their block. The assignees appear to be members of the Bodenheimer Family, associates or companies they control so no obvious clues to someone behind the scenes.
Have you seen Key file something like this before?
Key is one of the Companies leasing in the northwest part of Houston County.
I believe you are referring to the ORRI document filed on 5/14/2024. Another one was filed on 4/5/2024 that covered more leases.
Not sure what to make of them.
I’d missed that earlier assignment but even with those leases it’s far short of covering everything they’ve tied up.
Why they would take that step unless there are plans involving those specific leases escapes me.
