Mom owns minerals in Kingfisher, OK and is wanting to change the ownership of these minerals to me. Does anyone have or know of the necessary ppwk to fill out and how to go about getting the minerals changed over to my? Thanks for your help.

I own rights in Kingfisher County Section 26-15N-5W. I have been approached by a number of Landmen about those rights. Can anyone tell me the level of activity there and which “drilling” companies are active in that vicinity?

Paul

Paul, looks like Gastar will be the operating company for 26-15N-5W. They filed a 640 acre Horizontal Drilling and Spacing unit in May 2014. Order #625425, Cause 201402347. Zones are Mississippian, Woodford and Hunton. I have heard offers of $1050 and 1/5 for that section. You should get a pooling order soon if you haven’t already leased. Horizontals already in Sec 36 catty corner to you and in 24.

M Barnes,

Mom has 8 mineral acreas in Section 32, Township 18N and Range 6W - Kingfisher. Unfortunately, this is all I know. Southern part…don’t know. We have not rec’d any $ - royalties. This was inheriated abt 8 yrs ago when my mother’s sister passed and we have never leased. We were offered a lease 7 yrs ago ($100/acrea with no mention of royalty) and turned it down as we know nothing about this. Did receive a call a few weeks ago wanting us to sell; but after posting here and getting replies, declined that offer and now have someone else interested in leasing. I found this forum and have been trying to read up to determine what to do. We are wanting to have the acreage put in my name but not sure how to go about it.

There are several poolings and other filings close. You might want to wait and see what happens with them. Midwest’s lease needs no deduction clause, shut in limit, depth clause, you do not warrant title, no restriction on top-lease , no option to extend. I would think $600 or more would be more like it. Or no cash and a 1/4 if that would interest you. Here is a pooling with what the Co. was ordered to offer as close and current as I could find.

How many acres do you have ?

I bought my mineral rights from my mom( small sum) . An attorney filed the mineral deed with the Kingfisher county clerk.

There is no hurry to lease . Whose name is in now ?

Anybody done business with Lowry Land buying for Midwest Resources, LLC? They are offering to lease minerals $400 per acre for a 3 year lease with a 2 year option, plus a 3/16 royalty on anything the land produces in Section 32 T 18N R 6W. Please help as I am not familiar with all this and am confused. Thank you!

I’ll see what I can find.

Gail, Don’t take the 2 year extension. Also read back over the last six months here and get up to speed. You need to be very careful about the lease terms. Also if this is the first offer, it is low and will probably go up in the next few months. Just a few leases in the last year, so you don’t want to be the first one to lease. The offers get higher as time goes on. Chaparral was the player in 2013. Midwest is very active in S. 28, so you might get interest from more than one player if you wait awhile.

Is your acreage in the southern part of the section? There are still some active shallow wells in the northern half, so those might hold old leases if they don’t have depth clauses. Check your deed. Have you been getting royalties?

Ron McKenzie,

Thank you. Have 8 acreas–mineral interest only.
