We have some interests in this area & appear to be between two very active areas. One of these interests has been leased for a long time between different companies & one lease is up for renewal. The landman who approached us offers only a renewal of the most recent lease without any change in price per acre. Two years ago, we rejected two pour-over lease offers for double the current offer. Is that a common tactic only for that type of lease? While it looks like exciting changes lie ahead, two of the three of us in this family interest would like to sign now. Are lease prices really that depressed in this area, or have they increased in the last 3 years? Any help on value in this area would be greatly appreciated, because after checking state leasing figures, I still don’t know where we would stand in this particular location.
