I recently inherited the mineral rights to over 260 acrers in Harrison County Texas. An oil and gas company wants to drill two oil wells on it. They want to lease approximately 67 acres. I control 80% of the acreage needed for drilling. The company is offering me $200 an acre and 20%. I am not familiar what the going rate is. Does this seem right for this area. My lawyer suggested I get more information.
Harrison County is a big county. Do you have a legal description or abstract #? That helps narrow down the area.
