Can anyone clearly define needs to happen for Development to be considered started. I have a lease that is set to expire. The lease will expire on a given date unless “development as begun”.
What exactly does that mean? A spudded well? Pad prep?
Any clarification would be much appreciated?

The verbiage in the lease states “engaged in Drilling or rework operations”. We are in Williams county, ND.
