I have had a Lease for three years with US Shale, I have not heard anything from them. I don't Know where the Lease is located, as I inherited the mineral rights from my grandfather. He never lived on this property after I was born. All I can tell you is that it is 135.4 acres, R. B. vest Survey, A-896, Leon County, Tx. Can anyone tell me anything about this location? I live in Bogalusa, La 70427. The lease comes up for the option in June. Please help if anyone knows anything about this. Thanks, Alan Wilson, 1232 West 9th St, Bogalusa, La 70427, 985-750-1728.
Hello Alan,
After checking the RR Commission GIS Map your minerals are in a good location for future exploration and production. A well(API 289-31995) directly to the south of your A-896 in A-516 and extending into A-486 was drilled by EOG(Enron Oil and Gas) in March 2012. This link is to the Completion Report on that well:

Also to the S/W of your minerals in A-96 several other wells have been drilled in 2014 by EOG. The Completion Report on well: API 289-32105/350 BOPD/132,000 MCF gas
API 289-31030/416 BOPD/133,000 MCF gas
API 289-32131/247 BOPD/193,000 MCF gas

Hello Clint, Thank you very much for this help. I need to go to Henderson sometime as we have some mineral rights in Rusk Co. from my great grandfather, Charles Lehman. It is in an area that used to have a community by the name of Glenfawn. There is nothing their now but a cemetery. The property has a plantation home on it that is in the national registery. They call it Mt. Verdi, I think. I think all the drilling in Rusk County is in the north and west part of the County. Thanks again for your help, Alan

Alan,
Do you know the Abstract # of your Rusk County minerals? Rusk, Panola, Harrison, Robertson and eastern Smith Counties have been fairly hot the last few months for natural gas drilling in anticipation of the new natural gas export terminals being built on the Louisiana and Texas Gulf Coasts. If you can supply the Abstract # we can check your minerals area of Rusk County on the GIS map. Cotton Valley and Haynesville Shale formations seem to be the main target zones.
Clint Liles
Clint, I don't have the Abstract # . Can I call someone at the county courthouse and get it? What information will I need to give them in order for them to locate it? Thanks, Alan
Alan,
Call the County Clerks office and they will possibly be able to assist you. If you actually own the property and you pay the taxes the information will be on the tax receipt. Also do you possibly have the Section # and Block #?
Clint Liles
Alan,
If these minerals in Rusk County have ever been leased possibly your grandfather had some old lease papers filed away?. Rusk County has always been a great county for oil and gas and still is. Several new gas wells have been drilled in the past few months.
