There has been a good bit of leasing activity in the area. Both North and South of Hwy. 79 as well as in the Western part of Robertson County. XTO has been pretty active in acquiring acreage and like you cited, there have been some Buda wells permitted or drilled in the area. I wish people would post more on the activity they've heard about.

Is 25% royalty pretty standard?
25% royalty is very good, I’ve only heard of that high in some of the really active areas like the EagleFord. What kind of bonus was offered?
I understand where to look for permits on the rrc sire, but where do you find this info?

Go to the RRC main online research query page. Open Oil & Gas Completions. Click on Completions Query.
When filling in the Date/Submitted/Approved From and To fields the From date must be at least one day pror to the to date. I think you can only do a 90 day range at a time.
Fill in the other information according to what you are looking for.
