What is the legal age to sign an oil and gas lease in New Mexico?
I am not an attorney and am not providing legal advice with the following. Barring emancipated minor or non compos mentis situations, eighteen years of age would seem to be the minimum age to sign an oil and gas lease, and there would be no maximum age. It might be possible for a trust to require that a trustee act on behalf of a beneficiary who is older than 18, e.g., spendthrift, special needs, or other trusts.
