My family inherited “50 net mineral acres” in what is described in the deed as the “Leon County Mineral Pool.” There’s a reference to the Volume and Page where the deed is recorded, but there is no other information to identify the location of this mineral estate. Can anyone tell me how I might be able to find out where this estate is located? Or, is anyone familiar with this “Leon County Mineral Pool “? Thanks
You may have better luck if you’ll click “Counties” at the top of this page and post your question under the State and County you are talking about. I’m guessing it’s Leon County, Texas.
If your deed didn’t include a legal description does it make reference to any other recorded documents? “Mineral Pool” makes it sound like you may own an undivided mineral interest in a group of different tracts, but what makes up the pool should be recorded somewhere.
You can research the Leon County, Texas deed records online at https://i2i.uslandrecords.com/TX/Leon/D/Default.aspx
Searching and viewing documents is free and if you want to print something it’s a $1 a page.
Try to follow the chain of title by searching the Grantor/Grantee index using the grantors name show in the deed where your family acquired their interest, then try moving further back in the chain of grantees and grantors to the origin of the Pool.
Thanks Dusty, I’ll check the link and see if I can find a legal description of the property (properties) associated with this pool.
