Any way to determine how long a well will last? This is new to my family. We’ve been receiving royalties for 3 yrs. The well is located in Campbell County 42 North Range 73 West, 6th PM, Section 26.
Depends upon what kind of well (vertical or horizontal), what type of reservoir (conventional or unconventional), product Type (oil, gas or both), porosity, permeability, choke size, pressure, etc.
Thanks. Anyway to find out?
Sorry, getting oil and gas royalties on three wells there.
If you give your general legal description, then someone in that area may be able to help you.
Here’s the legal description I have: Township 42 North-Range 73 West, Section 26: W/2, Lots 3,4,5,6,11,12,13,14 Campbell County. Well names: Flatbow 3-26XH, Flatbow 731-26H, Flatbow 729-26H
Those wells are about 2-1/2 years old and have already produced almost 1/2 of their ultimate production. They are currently declining between 10-15% per year. That decline rate will flatten out some more over time, and the remaining production will probably be strung out another 15-20 years or so,gradually declining the whole time.
There are a bunch of permits over your acreage, but nothing currently being drilled nearby.
Thank you very much.
